The second 500m of the competition was won by Canadian sprinter Laurent Dubreuil with a fast time of 34.80. Jan Smeekens and Ronald Mulder from the Netherlands finished second and third.  Nao Kodaira won her second 500m of the weekend. The Japanese looks to be in great shape this weekend! The podium was completed by Sang-Hwa Lee and Arisa Go.

Denis Yuskov was the fastest man in the 1500m beating Canadian star Vincent de Haître and Dutch Thomas Krol. Miho Takagi from Japan was the fastest lady on the distance. Jorien Ter Mors and Lotte van Beek came close but had to settle for second and third position.

The first mass start races of the season were won by Seung-Hoon Lee on the men’s side while the ladies race was won by Ayano Sato. Completing the men's podium was reigning world champion Joey Mantia and Korea's Jaewon Chung. Korea looks good so far in this new olympic distance. The skaters will race the 1000m, 3000m or 5000m and the team sprint tomorrow to conclude the first World cup event of the season.
